The National Association of Corporate Directors presents a two-day Director Professionalism Course. The seminar is Monday and Tuesday, December 5 and 6, at the Four Seasons Palm Beach, 2800 South Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach, Florida. Monday’s schedule is 8:00 a.m. until 5:45 p.m., and Tuesday’s schedule is 8:00 a.m. until adjournment at 3:45 p.m.

This course is designed for all directors, particularly those new to preparing to serve on a public company board. The class will provide a comprehensive review of all the disciplines of board work, and offer attendees the practical tools and insights to keep the board ahead of persistent and emerging challenges.

The session topics are Board Excellence: Responsibilities and Strategy in the Current Governance Environment; Fiduciary Duties of Corporate Boards; Sustainability and Strategy from a Board Perspective; Audit Committee: Effectiveness in the New Environment; and Adding Value through the Compensation Committee.

Among the speakers are Michele J. Hooper, director, PPG Industries, UnitedHealth Group, AstraZeneca PLC and NACD; Professor Charles Elson, director, Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, University of Delaware, director, HealthSouth Corporation; and Kenneth Daly, president and CEO, NACD, former executive director, KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute.
