The Minnesota State Bar hosts a Labor & Employment Law Institute on Thursday, November 17. The event is located at the Minnesota CLE Conference Center at Seventh Street and Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The schedule is from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

The featured speaker is Victoria A. Lipnic, the commissioner of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) her topic is Current Enforcement Trends and Priorities, and she will shareher insight on current enforcement trends and priorities at the EEOC. She will discuss the recently published Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act regulations, the practical impact on employers and the complex issue of leave as a reasonable accommodation. Also, commissioner Lipnic will address the EEOC’s increasing focus on systemic discrimination in areas such as pre-employment testing, background checks and credit checks.

Other topics include a review of post-Dukes litigation; retaliation issues under federal and state law; and new rules affecting labor relations.
