On Wednesday, November 16, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute has scheduled a program titled Navigating the Rising Tide of Retaliation Claims. It will be located at PBI’s CLE Center in the Wanamaker Building in Central Philadelphia; it begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:15 p.m.

Retaliation charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) currently outnumber all other types of discrimination claims filed. With a newly invigorated EEOC and court decisions that continue to expand protections against retaliation in the workplace, employment law practitioners must hone their litigation skills and identify effective strategies in order to successfully win or defend retaliation claims.

In this course, attendees will hear from a diverse faculty of attorneys on both sides of retaliation cases, along with agency professionals. Participants will examine each of the components of winning retaliation cases from the initial workplace compliant, through administrative proceedings before the EEOC, and all the way to trial.

Among the faculty are M. Jean Clickner, U.S. EEOC; Peter J. Ennis, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, PC; and Ellen L. Surloff, supervising attorney, PA Human Relations Commission.

To register for this program visit or call (800) 932-4637.
