AZ Bar Schedules CLE By The Sea

The State Bar of Arizona will hold CLE by the Sea on Wednesday to Saturday, July 13 to 16, at the Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, California.

The event will include an ethics program on Wednesday, from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m., a trial practice program from Thursday to Saturday, 8:15 to 12:30 p.m., and a short sales, foreclosure, taxes and bankruptcy program, also from Thursday to Saturday, 8:15 to 12:30 p.m.

The ethical program, with Hon. Rebecca White Berch, chief justice, Arizona Supreme Court, and Booker T. Evans Jr., Greenberg Traurig, among the speakers, will focus on ethical communication, primarily writing and oral skills, including client relations. A reception for attendees from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. will follow the seminar.

The trial practice segment will include discussions about product liability, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, employment law, public entity liability, construction defect, settlement agreements, and business torts. A judges panel and a distinguished lawyer panel are also included. Speakers include with Ted A. Schmidt, Kinerk, Schmidt & Sethi, PLLC; Melanie V. Pate, Office of the Attorney General; and David F. Gaona, Gaona Law Firm.

The Short Sales segment, which also runs for three days, will offer an introduction to and current state of the market; Arizona short sale and foreclosure laws; the ethical considerations of representing a client in a short sale; lenders litigating; foreclosures; and consumer bankruptcy.
