Seminar Focus: Advice On Avoiding Glass Ceiling Class Actions

The firm of WolfBlock this month is preparing a CLE seminar titled Sexism in the City: Glass Ceiling Class Actions for the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America (NY ACCA).

The program will take place on Friday, July 14 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Chelsea Piers in New York City.

Most organizational leaders recognize the business value of diversity and of including women in senior leadership positions. Yet, a disconnect often exists between recognizing that value and implementing a plan to achieve it. And for those organizations unable to achieve, the costs can be staggering not only in terms of judgments, settlements and attorneys' fees, but also in terms of negative publicity stemming from class action lawsuits involving allegations of sexism.

The program will explore the legal, practical and political barriers confronting both employers and employees as they look at one another through the distorted panes of the proverbial glass ceiling.

Speakers will include: David L. Keenan, vice president and claims counsel, Chubb Group of Insurance Companies; Rachel S. Lieberman, vice president and employment counsel, GE Consumer Finance; Jonathan A. Segal, vice chair of the WolfBlock Employment Services Group, and Jonathan D. Wetchler, a member of the WolfBlock Employment Services Group.
