HBA Seminars To Focus On HIPAA,Commercial Real Estate, International Law

The Houston Bar Association (HBA) this month is planning several CLE seminars addressing issues of interest to in-house counsel.

Included on the May HBA calendar are:

  • Thursday, May 4, Ten Things Every Lawyer Should Know About HIPAA, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Junior League of Houston, 1811 Briar Oaks Lane, Houston, with speakers James T. Downes, Harris Country Attorney's Office Hospital District Division; Lisa Dahm, solo practitioner, and Vince Temples, Harris County privacy officer;
  • Friday, May 5, Commercial Landlord Remedies: Maximizing Recoveries & Avoiding Traps, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Harris County Jury Assembly Room, 1019 Congress Plaza, Houston, with C. Elaine Howard, Jackson Walker LLP, as speaker;
  • Thursday, May 11, Doing Business in the Islamic World - Critical Legal & Business Issues, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at the Junior League of Houston, 1811 Briar Oaks Lane, Houston, with speakers Walid S. Hegazy, John V. Lonsberg and Randel R. Young, all of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.
