Grotta Glassman Attorneys To PresentAge Discrimination Seminars

Two CLE-qualified breakfast seminars on age discrimination will be presented by Jed L. Marcus and Bruce R. Millman, principals in Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman, P.C., one of the nation's largest law firms that practices employment law exclusively on behalf of management.

The first seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on June 7 in The Newark Club, One Newark Center, 22nd Floor, Newark, NJ. The same seminar will be held at The Harvard Club, 27 West 44th Street, New York City from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. onJune 14.

Attendees at this seminar will learn:

  • Whether the new Supreme Court decision prevents employers from reducing employee benefits, retiree benefits, or controlling benefit costs;
  • How the new Supreme Court decision on age discrimination affects fundamental decisions such as raises, performance bonuses and layoffs;
  • How employers can insulate themselves from liability for age discrimination based on "disparate impact" theories;
  • If the new Supreme Court decision opens the door for costly class action suits against employers.

Grotta Glassman this month also will present a live web-based seminar (webinar) titled Religion in the Workplace: How Far Must Employers Go To Accommodate Their Employees' Religious Beliefs and Practices?

The program will take place on June 10 at 1 p.m. (EDT). GG&H Senior Counsel Lisa Brauner will conduct the one-hour webinar, and participants will be able to ask questions and interact with the speaker.

This seminar is designed for senior executives, HR professionals and in-house counsel. The number of participants will be limited to allow an open discussion forum.
