Six programs are included this month as part of the WolfInstitute's Winter/Spring 2004 Seminar Series.
Aimed at human resource professionals, senior managers and in-house counsel, the sessions provide a wide range of pragmatic, employment-related training.
All courses take place at the WolfInstitute Training Center, 1650 Arch Street, Philadelphia. Each course is taught by attorneys and human resource professionals of WolfBlock.
The April schedule of courses includes:
Thursday, April 1, EEO Update, 9 a.m. to noon, with Jonathan D. Wetchler as instructor. This seminar is an update of current EEO issues.
Thursday, April 8, Higher Education - Hot Topics II, 9 to noon, with Jonathan A. Segal, Robert M. Goldrich, Peter T. Wakiyama and Linda B. Hollinshead as instructors. Hot topics to be addressed include recent Title IX cases relating to athletic programs, faculty and intellectual property issues relating to distance learning, race-based scholarships, and minimizing risks to speech code challenges.
Tuesday, April 13, After the Whistle Blows: Investigation and Prevention of Sarbanes-Oxley Act Claims, 9 to 11:30 a.m., with Mr. Goldrich and Darrick M. Mix as instructors.This seminar focuses on the employment-related aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley.
Tuesday, April 20, Voluntary and Involuntary Reductions in Force, 9 to 11:30 a.m., with Mr. Wetchler as instructor. This program focuses on a successful reduction in force program.
Wednesday, April 21, Unemployment Compensation/Workers' Compensation, 9 to 11 a.m., with Jodi T. Plavner as instructor. With workers' compensation and unemployment compensation costs rising, this session will offer some basic cost-cutting strategies.
Tuesday, April 27, Non-Traditional Union Organizing, 9 to 11 a.m., with James R. Redeker as instructor. This course will explore how employers must prepare for and respond to non-traditional union organizing methods.
