The State Bar of Texas has planned a seminar titled Gain the Edge! Negotiation Strategies for Lawyers for Thursday, April 23 at the Norris Conference Center, 800 W. Sam Houston Parkway N. at City Centre in Houston.
The program will be repeated in Dallas on Friday, April 24, at the Cityplace Conference Center, 2711 Haskell Avenue. It is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn at 4:30 p.m. both days.
The featured speaker is Martin Latz, a national negotiation expert, author, adjunct professor at Arizona State University Law School, and founder of the Latz Negotiation Institute. Mr. Latz has trained more than 50,000 lawyers and business professionals around the world. Among the topics he will explore are setting aggressive yet realistic goals, information is power - so get it, using objective criteria with tough negotiators, competitive versus problem-solving techniques, dealing with untrustworthy negotiators, and puffery versus ethically unacceptable lying.
