MCLE presents a program online titled E-Discovery in Employment Cases - Unlocking and Understanding the Electronic Evidence You Need to Win.

In today's litigation, in order to prove or defend a position, it is imperative to know how to locate critical electronic evidence, properly preserve it, and understand it to recreate a timeline of what happened, when it happened, and who made it happen. Experts discuss how to discover, uncover, and recover electronic evidence and how that evidence can assist in settling a case, obtaining or defending summary judgment, and at trial.

The agenda includes discussions on the forum and rules that will govern the discovery, an evaluation of the need for e-discovery, the creation and execution of a discovery plan and a presentation by a computer technology expert.

Equity And Equity-Related Compensation

This program, titled Equity and Equity-Related Compensation - Practical Approaches and Strategies, focuses on a practical approach to the tax, accounting, and securities law aspects of equity and equity-related compensation arrangements for both publicly and privately held companies. The panelists provide an overview of the various types of equity compensation, the tax treatment of these types, and how accounting considerations affect the features of equity and equity-related awards. In particular, they discuss the traps for the unwary regarding the impact of §409A of the Internal Revenue Code on equity.The panelists also explain securities law reporting and disclosure issues particularly in relation to public companies.
