MCLE Seminar On Hourly Workers: Employee Rights/Employers Obligations

A seminar itled Hourly Workers:Employee Rights/Employer Obligations sponsored by MCLE, will take place on Thursday, June 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the MCLE Conference Center at 10 Winter Place, Boston.

Among the speakers will be: the Hon. Judith Fabricant, Superior Court, Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Joanne F. Goldstein, Chief, Office of the Attorney General, Business and Labor Bureau, Fair Labor Division, Boston; Shannon Liss-Riordan, Pyle, Rome, Lichten, Ehrenberg & Liss-Riordan, PC.

The audience will learn the most common wage and hour mistakes employers make, but can easily avoid; how to tell the difference between an employee and an independent contractor under the Commonwealth independent contractor statute; state unemploy- ment law, Chapter 151B, and selected federal statutes; how to tell an individual claim from a group claim from a class action, and the considerations in selecting a forum or removing a case.
